If you have tomato juice on-hand, try letting some soak on your turf for around 10 to 20 minutes – the acid can help neutralize the chemicals that cause skunk odor.

Don’t have tomato juice in your pantry? Mix a quart of hydrogen peroxide with a teaspoon of liquid dish soap and ¼ cup of baking soda and pour it onto the affected areas of your turf. This DIY method used by the Humane Society can help to break down skunk spray. Just don’t let it sit too long before rinsing with water – the peroxide can fade and damage your blades if left for more than a few minutes.
